Kate spent the summer of 2011 in the heart of Hollywood, CA at the suggestion of her, then, theatrical agent. She went to acting lessons through Joey Paul Jensen (who, among other things, was the Casting Director for the movie Soul Surfer that was in theaters that spring). She took commercial acting classes, attended a handful of acting camps and read in front of nearly 30 casting directors. While in LA, Kate took private guitar and vocal lessons from an independent recording artist by the name of Terra Naomi.

Kate was selected to be one of 25 Kansas City students to participate in the GRAMMY Music Revolution Project that took place over the course of a month during the summer of 2013. As a participant, she worked in groups on song composition, arranging, production, and marketing. She even recorded one of her originals at Westend Recording Studio in Kansas City, MO.

Kate has performed sets at The Groundhouse Coffee Shop in Gardner; KS; Holy Cow Market and Music in KCMO; The Roxy Bar in Overland Park, KS; Mills Records in KCMO; Revolution Records in KCMO; and the El Torreon in KCMO to name a few. She has also performed as part of Make Music Liberty, PorchFest, and The Middle of the Map Fest.

Kate wrote, and recorded vocals for the hook on the song A Certain Comfort that appears on Tech N9ne's Special Effects album and a hook and bridge for House Of Cards, a song off Prozaks' album Black Ink. A couple verses of one of Kates' original songs were used as part of "Hold On Me" that appears on Tech N9ne's album The Storm.

In October 2016, Kate released her self-produced debut EP made up of a handful of songs that she had written over the course of the prior year.

In August 2017, Kate started her studies as a Music Business/Commercial Songwriting Major at Middle Tennessee State University.
